Hi, my name is Bernice! My love affair with Makeup started at a very tender age; I remember watching my mom get ready for work, fascinated by all the palettes, tubes & powders that transformed an already beautiful woman, into a stunning vision, and I was hooked! I took a bit of a detour, before I started pursuing my passion though; after I completed High School in ‘99, I studied Marketing & Sales Management, and ended up working in the Corporate world for many years, heading up different Departments within the Operational side of Global Corporate Companies, however, I always knew deep down, that I will find my way back to pursuing my one and only passion!

I completed my 1st basic Makeup Artistry course in Port Elizabeth in 2006, I was still working full time, and freelanced on weekends; fast forward a few years; I moved to Johannesburg and decided that it was time to further expand my knowledge & experience in the ever evolving Makeup Industry, and thus I enrolled at Kohl Makeup Academy, where I graduated, with an International VTCT Accredited Diploma in Fashion, Theatre & Media Makeup studies.

I consider myself to be a versatile makeup artist, and enjoy working across all genres, be it transforming an ordinary girl next door, into a queen on her wedding day, or whether it’s creating the scariest SFX looks for Halloween! I also offer one on one & group makeup lessons across Gauteng.

Highlights in my career thus far, is working on Fashion week & Africa Fashion Week in Johannesburg, collaborating with Media agencies on exciting projects, and with me being completely obsessed with Beauty Pageants from a very young age, I was ecstatic to be selected as the makeup artist for Ianthe Ludeke, the reigning Mrs. SA Universe 2019, for her official pageant campaign, as well as working with Kayla Wright, the reigning Miss Teen South Africa 2019.

I believe that in order to be an amazing makeup artist, one should never stop learning from industry leaders, or be afraid to try out new or different techniques. ALWAYS embrace every opportunity that comes your way, even if it stretches your creativity, that is where true growth really happens! I am extremely grateful for all the opportunities that have come my way, and I look forward to continue to learn & grow in this rewarding industry, one colorful brush stroke at a time!
