My love for makeup began at a young age when I would sit and watch my mom apply her makeup every morning before being dropped off at school. I loved watching her confidence grow with each stroke of mascara and her final touch of lipstick which she would plonk on my forehead leaving me the impossible task of trying to remove before arriving at the school gate.
I have an insatiable curiosity for character development through the use of makeup which was deepened through my studies abroad in Dallas, Texas where I obtained my bachelors in Theatrical and Performance Arts.
After moving back home I started working for MAC For 5 years and was afforded the opportunity to work on prestigious events all over the country, from Johannesburg Fashion Week to Editorial Shoots with Marianne Fassler and Rich Mnisi, to being flown to Botswana to work on Africa Fashion week to work with up and coming African designers. I also helped Suzanne Heyns wrap up her designer career in her final editorial shoot and assisted in the African international MAC Campaign for the launch of MAC Africa’s Social media platform. I have worked with amazing artists and creatives such as David Tlale, DJ Doo Wop, Rouge, Matthew Mole, The Wella Hair team, Bokeh, Mi Casa and so many more.
After 9 years in the makeup industry I find it incredible to have the opportunity to do what I absolutely love every single day! My range of makeup skills has broadened and now includes Body Painting (my personal favorite), theatrical, Prosthetics, Bridal, Editorial, Runway and Beauty. My passion for makeup and creating continues to flourish and deepen day after day. Makeup is my tool to empower those around me and to spread love and kindness through the use of my skill. I am currently living in Dallas, Texas and working for Morphe where I hope to hone in and expand my skill even further to reach my goal of becoming an international Makeup Artist.
